ALF Ambulance has its own internal education department which creates programs for the ALF Paramedics as well as the Apple Valley, Lakeville, and Farmington Police and Fire Departments. Training is arranged by the Education Coordinator. Some of the programs offered are:
CPR
ALF offers a variety of CPR classes, all certified through the American Heart Association.
Health Care Provider (Adult, Child, Infant -
Basic Life Support level)
Heart Saver (Adult, Child, Infant - Lay rescuers)
CPR/AED (Adult, Automatic External Defibrillator) OR (Adult, Child, Infant and Automatic External Defibrillator)
ALF Ambulance participates and provides training in the community-based AED programs in the cities of Apple Valley and Lakeville.
CPR/First Aid
This program teaches the immediate care you would give to a victim of illness or injury before professional help arrives.
EMT Refresher
This course is approved by the Minnesota Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board. It will allow EMT's to maintain their certification level.
First Responder
A 40-hour program to teach participants basic knowledge in treating patients experiencing a medical emergency or traumatic injury.
A First Responder Refresher class is also available.
Vial of Life
The Vial of Life Kit is available free as a
public service from ALF Ambulance. Enclosed in the Kit is a form for
individuals to store important medical information that they can provide to
emergency personnel in the event of a medical crisis.
Community Education/Tours
ALF Ambulance also provides the opportunity for Paramedics to come and meet with specific groups, do a presentation on the ambulance and provide a tour of the ambulance.
